10.11.06 | TRANSFIRST Names Michael Phelan President of ePayment division

Division eyes further growth with Phelan at the helm

DALLAS (October 11, 2006) — TRANSFIRST, a leading provider of credit card processing services and payment enabling technologies, today announced Michael Phelan as President of its ePayment Services division. Based in Omaha, Neb., Phelan has served as the division's Vice President of Sales for the past 13 months. His achievements in generating and leading sales strategies, increasing market share, and expanding the TRANSFIRST's ePayment Services presence positioned him as the natural choice to lead the division to further its success.  This division specializes in delivering customized payment processing solutions to merchants that primarily focus on card-not-present transactions such as direct marketing, e-commerce, catalog orders, and non-profit organizations.

Phelan brings with him the proven skills he's demonstrated during the course of the last year and 18 years of financial services leadership prior to joining TRANSFIRST, 14 of which have specifically targeted the credit card and merchant processing industry.

Prior to joining TRANSFIRST, Phelan served as vice president of business development for the Wealth Management Group at First National Bank in Omaha, Neb., where he was responsible for sales, marketing and product development, Investment One Brokerage, corporate bank marketing, training and strategic initiatives. Prior to that, Phelan held other management positions within First National Bank including, general manager of Collection Corporation of America and Senior Vice President for First National Merchant Solutions. Phelan earned his undergraduate degree in Theology and a master's degree in Business Administration at Creighton University.
